Yes, Game Center is completely safe. We have tested the Game Center software through several antivirus programs to ensure this.
However, we are aware that some antivirus programs may flag Game Center as a threat and may cause technical issues when downloading and running Game Center.
The below is an example of a threat detection from Avast Antivirus. Like said, we thoroughly test our software and this threat detection is a false positive. Rest assured, we’ll continue to investigate and ensure that the Game Center is safe. We understand that any threat detection is scary, false positive or not.
You can temporarily disable your antivirus to ensure that Game Center will not encounter any issues when installing.
If it is safe, why does it pop-up without permission every time I open my PC?
We’ve been receiving reports about Game Center opening automatically. We’d like to clarify that this is not because Game Center is not safe. It is actually a feature of Game Center that is turned on by default for convenience.
You can turn this feature off by going to the Game Center Playstore, Click the ≡ icon, then click Settings.
Why is my computer running slow after installing Game Center?
Game Center uses Virtualization technology. If you are experiencing slowness on your computer, especially when playing in Game Center, it is possible that you have your Virtualization disabled. You may also check if you have other programs that use Virtualization as this may cause conflict and use with Game Center.
Additionally, it may also be possible that you have Core isolation Memory Integrity enabled. We've found that Game Center and other applications are incompatible with this Windows feature and thus may cause problems and issues. You check the article below
You can check the article below for more information about Virtualization and how to disable Memory Integrity on your PC.
